Halden

Halden tells data teams what a query costs before they run it, and stops the ones nobody meant to schedule.

Why we investedInfrastructure / Seed 2023

What we saw in Halden.

Every data team we spoke to in 2022 had the same story. The warehouse bill doubled, nobody could say which dashboard caused it, and the fix was a spreadsheet maintained by one tired engineer.

Ines had been that engineer at a logistics company, which is why the first version of Halden solved the boring half of the problem: attribution. Once you know who owns a query, the savings argument makes itself.

We led the pre-seed with a prototype and one design partner. The market has since become crowded, and Halden is still winning deals because it reads the query plan rather than guessing from billing exports.

From a founder
“They led our pre-seed when we had a prototype and one pilot. Two years on, the thing I value most is that they tell me what they think before I ask.”
